About Jacqui

My Bowen journey began 12 years ago when I injured my back playing netball. Previously, both my husband and father had experienced success with Bowen so I decided to try it myself. Although initially skeptical, I was genuinely impressed by the profound effects such a gentle treatment could have.

Coming from a long involvement in both farming and sport, my body was compromised.I found that by having regular Bowen treatments I had less pain, more energy and generally felt better-I wanted to know more!

In 2012 I became a Bowen practitioner through Fascial Kinetics and established a clinic in rural East Otago. Bowen has shown me that, not only does it address a wide range of injuries and conditions, but when used regularly as a maintenance treatment it enables our bodies to function at their optimum so injuries are less likely to occur and symptoms less prevalent.

Professional development is an area that I identify as being crucial and over the past 9 years I have continued to develop my depth of knowledge through ongoing education on the integral role fascia plays within our bodies.

Dogs have always played a huge part in my life. I have worked with them all of my life on the farm (both working and pets) and as a Veterinary Nurse in a rural practice for 8 years, specialising in small animals.

Canine Bowen then, was always going to be a natural progression for me, combining both of my passions, Bowen and Dogs.

I completed ISBTs (International School of Bowen Therapy) Canine Bowen Training in Melbourne 2017 and was proud to become their first New Zealand Canine Bowen Practitioner. In 2018 I was given the opportunity to assist at a Level 3/4 Training course in Wellington.

In 2019 we moved to a lifestyle block in Bannockburn (Cromwell), Central Otago and my treatment room is now situated in a peaceful, rural environment, adding to your Bowen experience.

“Bowen treatments for our dog Dougal have helped him with pain relief and stiffness. I personally find Bowen helps me release stress, and reduces aches and pain. I have a greater range of movement after treatments. Jacqui is an outstanding practitioner and has not only a wealth of experience and knowledge but intuitiveness with magic hands.”
